LETTERS OF SUPPORT NEEDED FOR
SB 178 (STEINBERG/KUEHL) - GROUNDWATER MONITORING PROGRAM

GRA is seeking support from its members for SB 178 (Steinberg/Kuehl) (bill language and Senate Floor analysis linked below). You will recall that this is the current version of the groundwater provisions of former SB 820 and SB 1640 (Kuehl) which were passed by the Legislature but vetoed by the Governor. GRA has supported all of these bills and is on record supporting SB 178 (current letter linked below). GRA conducted a membership poll on a previous version of the bill and found our members in strong support. The bill will be heard in Assembly Water Parks and Wildlife next Tuesday, July 3, so support letters need to go in as soon as possible. You can use the draft letter linked below as a model and forward your letter directly to Alf Brandt at alf.brandt@asm.ca.gov with a cc to Dennis O'Connor at dennis.oconnor@sen.ca.gov, or send the letter to GRA's Legislative Advocates Chris Frahm (cfrahm@hatchparent.com) and Paul Bauer (pbauer@hatchparent.com) at Hatch & Parent and they will provide it to the Committee.
